There is no universal quality winner across datasets, versions and budgets. Postshot is an integrated production tool; Nerfstudio is a framework containing multiple methods, including Splatfacto. Specify the versions, inputs, poses, training conditions and viewer before comparing.
Compare workflows and methods separately
Using built-in tracking on one side and external COLMAP on the other changes more than the splat optimizer. Compare both end-to-end workflows and, where supported, a shared-camera-input experiment.
The former measures production experience; the latter helps isolate training differences. Ease of use is not proof of more accurate geometry.
Record the comparison conditions
Record software and method versions, image count and resolution, calibration and pose source, hardware, time or iterations, representation size, exposure and antialiasing settings, and export format.
Equal iterations do not imply equal compute, and equal Gaussian counts do not imply equal memory or sorting cost. Choose a time, resource or delivery budget that fits the question.
Evaluate in the intended viewer
A good-looking editor preview can change after export because of color handling, antialiasing, spherical harmonics, compression or format support. Inspect both outputs in the intended viewer along the same path, including loading behavior on target devices.
This is a comparison protocol, not an invented benchmark or winner. A workflow recommendation requires tests relevant to the actual scene.
Sources and scope
Research synthesis and a proposed diagnostic workflow. Not an unprovided Visuloma case study or benchmark.
